La metodología de estudio del Método Elingua se basa en la visualización y comprensión de una película en formato cartoon realizada conjuntamente por pedagogos y guionistas profesionales.

La historia y los diálogos de los personajes nos muestran situaciones reales de comunicación en inglés donde se ponen en práctica los conocimientos que vas a estudiar en la unidad. Los diálogos y la construcción de las frases están elaborados en consonancia con el nivel de conocimientos del alumnado (pausas entre frases, vocabulario empleado, etc.). En los niveles superiores aparecen incluso diferentes acentos dentro del propio idioma inglés: americano (sobre todo), australiano e irlandés, de tal manera que el alumnado vea los diferentes matices lingüísticos dentro del propio idioma.

En las secciones de Comprehension, Grammar y Vocabulary se presentan colecciones de ejercicios muy variados para verificar que se comprenden y se saben utilizar los conocimientos propuestos en el nivel de estudio.

Son ejercicios sencillos de realizar, pero se debe conocer la mecánica de trabajo de todos ellos para poder progresar en el curso. Podríamos resumirla en los siguientes pasos:

• • Cuando esté leyendo el enunciado y para ayudarle en la comprensión del mismo, el alumno dispone de elementos adicionales tales como secuencias de vídeo, audios e imágenes. Así le será más fácil saber qué le están pidiendo.
  • Una vez que contestes a la pregunta realizada, deberás pulsar el icono CHECK para comprobar si has contestado correctamente.
  • En caso de que tu respuesta sea correcta, pulsa el icono CONTINUE para seguir a un nuevo ejercicio.
  • Si tu respuesta fué incorrecta, puedes realizar un nuevo intento. Si el ejercicio tenía varias opciones y alguna de ellas la contestaste bien, el sistema te mantendrá tu respuesta para que te centres en el resto de las que has fallado. Cuando hayas contestado, pulsa CHECK AGAIN y verás si contestaste bien, y en su caso las respuestas correctas.
  • En cualquier momento del ejercicio podrás acceder al Dictionary para consultar alguna palabra de la que no conozcas su significado.
  • Cuando contestes por segunda vez a una pregunta, podrás pulsar el icono SHOW SOLUTION para ver las respuestas correctas.
  • En cualquier momento del ejercicio puedes pulsar CLEAR para borrar las respuestas que se quieran corregir.

En los apartados de Grammar y Vocabulary, si abandonas la sección sin haberla finalizado, el sistema te enviará de nuevo, cuando vuelvas a entrar, a la siguiente pregunta que te hubiera correspondido contestar.

En los apartados de Self Test, Dictation y Final Test puedes pulsar SAVE & CLOSE en cualquier momento para que guarde tus respuestas y poder continuar tu estudio donde lo dejaste.

Al final de cada apartado dispondrás de los resultados de todos tus intentos (Total Time, Total Score % y Level Completed %) y un resumen por cada una de las competencias.

Puedes ver todo tu progreso (tiempo de estudio, % de cada nivel completado, resultado de cada ejercicio, así como los comentarios de tu profesor y fechas de todas tus clases telefónicas si dispones de ellas) en el apartado “Tus informes”

The methodology of the Elingua Method is based on watching and understanding a cartoon film made jointly by ELT specialists and professional screenwriters.

The story and the dialogues of the characters show real situations of communication in English where the structures and vocabulary used belongs to the unit you are going to study and based on the English level that you have (pauses between sentences, vocabulary used, structures, etc.). At higher levels there are even different English accents such as: (above all) American English, Australian English and Irish English. In this way, you can hear that there are linguistic nuances within the language.

In the sections of Comprehension, Grammar and Vocabulary there are collections of very varied exercises to check that you have mastered the material presented in the level studied.

These exercises are simple to do, but it is necessary to know how they all work in order to progress in the course. We can summarize this as follows:

• • When you are reading the question and to help you understand it, you are given additional elements such as video sequences, audios and images. This will make it easier for you to know what you are being asked to do.
  • Once you have answered the question, you should press the CHECK icon to check if you have answered it correctly.
  • If your answer is correct, click on the CONTINUE icon to proceed to a new exercise.
  • If your answer was incorrect, you can have another attempt. If the exercise had several options and one of them was answered correctly, the system will keep your answer so that you can focus on the others that you have missed. When you have answered, press CHECK AGAIN and you will see if you answered correctly, and if so, the correct answers.
  • At any time during the exercise you can access the Dictionary to look up a word you don’t know the meaning of.
  • When you answer a question a second time, you can press the SHOW SOLUTION icons to see the correct answers.
  • At any time during the exercise you can press CLEAR to delete the answers you want to correct.

In the Grammar and Vocabulary sections, if you leave the section without having finished it, next time you enter the system, you’ll be send where you left off.

In the Self Test, Dictation and Final Test sections, you can click on SAVE & CLOSE at any time to save your answers and later continue to study where you left off.

At the end of each section, you can see the results of all your attempts (Total Time, Total Score % and Level Completed %) and a summary for each of the skills.

You can see all your progress (study time,% of each level completed, result of each exercise, as well as the comments of your teacher and dates of all your telephone classes if you have them) in the “Tus informes” section.
