What would your verdict be?
Judge Rules 30-Year-Old Must Finally Move Out Of His Parents’ House
Even after notifying their son five times and offering him cash, he still refused to leave – so they took him to court.
CNN Michael Rotondo, who represented himself, waits for the verdict while his parents confer with their lawyer in the gallery.
Even after five notices and an offer of cash to move out of his parents’ home in Camillus, N.Y., Michael Rotondo pulled a real-life Failure to Launchand refused to leave. So, his parents did what every loving mother and father at the end of their rope would do.
They took him to court.
On Tuesday, a New York judge ruled in favor of the parents, Christina and Mark Rotondo, and ordered the 30-year-old man to leave. However, he isn’t going down without a fight. He claims he’s owed a six-month notice, which would give him ample time to prepare for such a big step.
“I just wanted a reasonable amount of time to vacate, with consideration to the fact that I was not really prepared to support myself at the time of the notices,” Rotondo told WSTM News.
The notices Rotondo is referring to are the five separate notices he’s received over the last several months, informing him that his parents want him out. The first notice arrived on Feb. 2.
“After a discussion with your Mother, we have decided you must leave this house immediately,” the notice reads. “You have 14 days to vacate. You will not be allowed to return. We will take whatever actions are necessary to enforce this decision.”

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this article! Perhaps it may come as a bit of a sting, as the culture in North America is a bit different than here.
Let me know – let’s make this an ongoing dialogue!
I’ll be looking for questions on vocabulary, meaning – use, and of course – OPINION!
So here goes the open question: If you were the judge – what would your verdict be?
Hello all !
If I was the judge,my verdict would be:
The son has enought age to emancipate he.
Life has some stages and with 30 years old, you have to have a life project.
Your parents have already done everything they could do for you, education, principles, food, whims, etc.
If you stay at your parents’ house, it’s because you live very well at their expense, without any worries, rent, washing machines, food…..
You have to think about others, not your own benefit.
A son has to be educated from the beginning. You don’t have to pretend to have an adult in two months, you have to develop him day by day since he was a child and to give him responsabilities according the age.
In this case parents has a problem now but they have created it for long time ago.
So… would you kick him out? This is the first time I’ve heard of a court case like this, I thought it was funny, but I think it’s a reality for many people! Where do you draw the line?
I fully agree with Ana. If you’re 30 you should already be prepared to face life (though it depends on your life conditions, of course as some people do not have the same opportunities in life regarding studies or work experience).
However, if your parents have helped you over the time and you’re lazy as hell, it’s time to wake up and get ready to live your own life an pay your bills.
I think it must be difficult to kick your son out, although he is 30. It also depends on his behavior at home. Perhaps his parents thought it was the last chance to make his son a Little bit independent. When they dead it Will be harder for him.
Keep working ,fantastic job!
