Link to article that sparked my interest.

On August 28th, aproximately 130 flights had to be cancelled in Munich.  The reason? You might rightfully ask yourself… None other than that of a young, uninformed twenty some year old Spanish guy, who WENT IN THE WRONG DOOR in the airport – you know, the one that says DO NOT ENTER – yes, that one.  The one that leads you to a place that, if you are not checked into any flights, or about to boarder another, well, you just can’t go through.

This led to mayhem, until the suspect was aprehended, as the results, in the eyes of the officials, could have been disasterous.

Who was this culprit then? An unsuspecting young man who did nothing intentionally.

What – was he paying attention to his phone? Did he not understand the sign? Did he even care?

Quite personally, I’m surprised that this type of thing doesn’t happen more often.  I don’t have the impression that many of us have an acute sense of being – surrounding.  Especially when I do look around – most people are highly distracted, and not quite present.

I don’t think that he’ll be making the same mistake twice – but I do think that it is something to bare in mind when considering how we interact with the world we are in.  Latelly I’ve been reading up on taking individual responsability, and how, if you don’t have your own «house» in order, well, how can you be expected to project something positive towards the rest of the world.  It’s true – I’m mixing up a few concepts, I don’t know who this young man is, nor of his real reasons, but I do think that this action speaks for many, and is a good respresentation of our world today.

What do you think?  Is the real solution to put up even more norms?

Have a great week-
